The Crew at CVP....

Developing many of the patterns, testing new glazes, hunting new artists and arranging the shop to feel "just right", Jeffri Coleman is surely the creative mind behind the studio. Jeffri also is behind most of the 'production' at Crow Valley.  Long known for his love of bold design, intense color, and ability to see what others cannot, Jeffri is an artist and potter respected for his fresh and inventive works.  He also has a special gift in bringing out the best in other artists, and steering them in the direction of their best abilities (even when THEY don't yet know it!).  He is often seen working in the shop, drawing designs, glazing pots and chatting with visitors - all at the same time!

His involvement with Crow Valley brought Michael Rivkin to his first contact with clay. After classes in throwing and lots and lots of practice and lots and lots of input from Jeffri, "Taller! Thinner! Wider! Lighter!", he became a "potter".  These days, all the varied aspects of Crow Valley mean that Michael gets help in the 'production' arena (thank God for Ruthie Gibbs - our 'throwing diva"!). He still does all of the carving, and has become a master at tile and mosaic making. Michael's love of Native Northwest art maintains the flavor of the original Crow Valley design work.  As the 'business end' of the shop, Michael is the most often seen shopkeeper, and the one to talk to for special orders and shipping.

Associate potter Sharon Douglas is known for her stoneware and porcelain work… most wonderful of all are her crystalline glazes!  Each and every one is strikingly different.  Sharon's palette of colors is ever changing, as are her whimsical patterns.  Asian inspired works, garden sculptures and spirit houses are signature pieces as well.  When not glazing away in her "sugar shack", you will often find Sharon manning the shop, or. running Crow Valley while Jeffri and Michael are traveling.  Thanks Sharon… we love you!

Margie Gilbertson's evolution with Crow Valley is the reason we love what we do soooo much!  Margie started assisting Jeffri with glazing a couple of years ago, and now is an invaluable part of the studio.  All the while developing her own individual style of hand-built and hand-carved ceramics.  Her work is now a popular part of Crow Valley's offerings in it's own right!  Margie is right hand, left hand and often a leg or two for Jeffri and for the shop!  More on Margery and photos of her work, click here!

Clara (aka: Dirty Clara, Cleetus, Twiggle, Twingle, Devil-dawg, Ditch-dog, etc…) joined us here at Crow Valley in October, 2001 at the ripe old age of nine weeks.  Part black Lab, part beaver, she quickly endeared herself to all in the studio, as well as the customers (some people come in just to see HER!).  A very warm and super-friendly dog, she has established her own personality as she 'stands watch' over the yards at the cabin, kissing all who enter!  Click here for a peek at the Clara's own "Dirty Clara Dog Bath Bar"
